The Super Surprise

Brief Overview

It had been a year and a half in the making. But we managed to pull off the most amazing surprise I’ve ever planned. I’ll tell you about it in this episode.

Big Ideas

What is it about making money that drives us? [15:40]

When we think about our business, why do we try and maximize every promotion and every campaign, so that we can make as much money as possible? Why do we do this? What is it about making money that drives us?

For me, this episode sums it all up. It’s about using the money to do good for people that you love and care about — and for causes that you love and you care about. You always hear me at the end of every episode say, “The more money we make, the more impact we can have,” and for my wife and I, this is a big part of our lives. This is why we love making money. Every year, we love creating a super surprise for somebody that we love. Whether it’s a family member or good friends. We love contributing to causes that we’re passionate about and we love pouring ourselves and our money into our nonprofit that builds schools over in Kenya. To us, this is what building a business is all about.

This year, we surprised our good friends Josh and Clay with a wild trip to Namotu Island, Fiji. You can listen to the fully story in today’s episode!

Figure Out Your Super Surprise [16:51]

I truly believe that you, myself, and all the other entrepreneurs out there are the ones that are really going to change the world, because there’s no limit on the amount of money that you and I can make. That’s why I get so passionate about this podcast. That’s why I get so passionate about helping our Tribers grow their recurring revenue through membership sites. This is why I’m passionate about being an entrepreneur and helping other entrepreneurs. It’s you and I that are going to make the difference in the lives of those that we love, and the lives of the people in our communities, (both online and physically), and of course, changing the world as a whole.

So, here’s what I want you to do. The next time you have a spectacular campaign or a promotion, set aside a little bit of that money to make somebody else’s day, because here’s the crazy thing… As spectacular as the surprise was (and I know Josh and Clay were over the moon with this), I truly feel like I was the one that got the most from this experience. You see, I was in a bit of a funk before this with our friends that we had lost and I was really struggling to figure out how to find my new normal.

It was our week in Namotu, learning new things (like kite boarding and surfing), in paradise with good people, great food, and amazing moments — this would not have been possible had it not been for the business. And so, I’m forever grateful to my business partners and our team that helped make this possible. I’m forever grateful for being an entrepreneur because it really can change your life in so many different ways. And so, I want to encourage you to figure out your own super surprise. Who could you give a super surprise to? And most importantly, when you’re orchestrating a super surprise, make sure that you hold onto the secret. Make it a real surprise, as we did. Ours was six layers deep. Six different surprises! It was epic and I want you to have an epic experience too. So, put a super surprise on your calendar!
