In that post, they outlined what has happened, and there was one particular paragraph that grabbed my attention…. “And while generating some significant revenue when I live launched earlier in the year, it has done really poorly since I’ve attempted to move it to evergreen over the last few months.” There was also another post in the group from Heidi Easley, where she was talking about a win that she had experienced in the last year, and it had to do with her evergreen funnel. So one person is having a challenge with it, while somebody else is thriving with it. But there was one really important paragraph in Heidi’s post that made a difference… “My reason for sharing this is don’t give up. Keep tweaking. In the past, I would have tried it once and thought it didn’t work and move on to the next thing. But now I just tweak, tweak, and tweak again. It’s like this fun online puzzle to figure out.” Focus On What’s Working [3:25] Often as business owners, we try stuff and when it doesn’t work right away, we give up on it. But whether you’re struggling or not, I want you to do more of what is working, and less of what isn’t. Don’t get distracted by all the new whizbang strategies, tactics, tools and resources. You need to build resilience as a business owner because it won’t always work the first time you try things, but you can’t give up right away. Those of us who succeed long term, we’re so damn stubborn and we just don’t give up on things easily. Go back and take inventory of the different campaigns that you have done over the last year. And whatever you’ve identified that worked, do it again and do more of it. For example, this year I went back and looked at all the podcast episodes that you’ve been listening to, and I checked which ones resonated with our audience and which ones didn’t. Now, I’m going to be doing more of the ones that did resonate, and less of those that didn’t. Don’t Give Up, Tweak! [6:37] When this person made this post, what she needed to do next was obvious to me. She stated that the live launch worked well for her and generated significant revenue, so I suggested that she does the same launch again. Each time you do a launch, you get better and better at it. The first time we ever did the TRIBE launch, we experienced tremendous success, just like this person did, and it was a $3.35 million launch. The next time we did it, we made some improvements but essentially used the same core elements, and it grew from a $3.35 million launch to a $3.5 million launch. And then the next time we made a few tweaks again, and we took it from a $3.5 million launch to a $5.2 million launch. Your success in business and marketing boils down to your resilience, your willingness to try things, and then to tweak it, refine it, and dial it in as time goes. If you’re in a financial pinch, look at what you’ve done in the past that has worked, go to that treasure trove and do those things again. And even if you aren’t in a financial pinch, take inventory of the things that worked and do more of them, and less of what didn’t work. What campaigns, promotions, emails, webinars, Facebook Lives, podcast episodes, launches, etc., worked? You might be tempted to try all this fancy new stuff because you’re getting bored with your marketing. But if your marketing is working, then you just have to keep working the marketing.
