Marketing Confidence And Where It Comes From

Brief Overview

Do you believe in what you’re selling? Do you REALLY believe in what you’re selling? If so, why are you not telling more people about it? More in this episode.

Big Ideas

[01:35] I don’t know about you but if you have ever experienced your first unsubscribe, you’re just hyper sensitive to it. It hits you right in the heart. At least it did for me. But here’s the truth. An unsubscribe is actually a good thing! If you’ve got an unsubscribe, think of it as a cleansing process. You’re cleaning up your list. It’s simply somebody who has said, “You know what, this stuff isn’t right for me.” And that’s okay. What you’re left with is a smaller, but much tighter list of people who are really into everything that you are talking about and everything that you’re sharing.

[02:47] A mentor of mine in my early days taught me something… ‘love me or hate me, there’s no money in the middle’. So when you create this kind of divide, it’s actually a really good thing because the people that do hang around are going to love you. I would much rather trade a big list of people who are indifferent, who take zero action, who do nothing, for way smaller list of people who absolutely love everything that you have to offer.

[04:00] When it comes to marketing, you have to believe in your product. You have to believe that it will help people. You have to believe that compared to the price there is way more value. If you have that belief, then why wouldn’t you want to get that product in as front of as many people as possible? Nobody wants to buy from somebody who doesn’t come with a sense of confidence around what their product is going to do. Nobody is going to want to buy from somebody who doesn’t believe that the product that they are selling is actually going to transform their audience or their customers’ lives in some way.

[07:10] If you’re still hesitant in selling your product or service, there may be something else that’s wrong. Is your product not world class? Is your product not good in some way? Does  the value not line up? Is the price people paying higher than the value that they’re going to receive? If that’s the case, that might be the cause of your hesitation. But if you have a great product and the value is there, then never ever hold back on your marketing. If what you have helps people, then do everything you can to get it out there.
